Connection method between drill pipe and core pipe in geological exploration
1、 Threaded connection
Thread connection is a common connection method and is also a more economical and practical connection method. This method requires setting corresponding threads at the connection between the drill pipe and the core pipe, and then connecting the two together by tightening the threads. The threaded connection method is simple and convenient, but it is prone to looseness and wear at the connection point, which can affect the drilling progress.
2、 Clamping connection
Clamping connection is a method of connecting using the metal clamping sleeve at the connection part of the core tube. The drill pipe is connected to the core pipe through the clamping force of the clamping sleeve, which can effectively ensure a secure connection. However, this method requires precise craftsmanship and special equipment to achieve clamping, which is costly.
3、 Bottle mouth connection
Bottle mouth connection is a method of connecting the connecting ports of drill pipes and core pipes into a bottle mouth shape and connecting them through mutual connection. The connection method of the bottle mouth is firm, does not cause wear, and is easy to disassemble
4、 Sliding sleeve connection
Sliding sleeve connection is a complex connection method where a sliding sleeve is installed at the connection port. When the drill pipe rotates, the core tube remains stationary, thereby avoiding friction and wear at the connection. The advantages of this method are firm connection and long service life, while the disadvantages are high difficulty in production and high cost.
